Guelph Community Orchard Project 1st Anniversary fast approaches! To mark the occasion we will be joining the Transition Guelph folks for a potluck supper and celebration on Wednesday, September 11th, 6 pm at 47 Meadowview Avenue, Guelph.
To plan for this event, we will be meeting on Tuesday, August 20th at 7:30 pm – 70 Forest Street. Please RSVP to say you will attend.
Paul Wartman is leading a workshop on Edible Forest Gardening at the Harcourt site of GCOP on Saturday, August 24, 10 am-noon with a design charette. Participants will learn what has already been planted, go away and do research on what companion plantings would best enhance the orchard and then submit suggestions to us. Acting on the best suggestions, we will complete the orchard plantings on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 14th.

Just wanted to let you know that this Friday at 1:30 pm we will be planting a number of fruit trees (see list below) at the Guelph Community Christian School, and helpers are welcome to join in for the fun! These trees will enhance our pilot planting projects for the Guelph Community Orchard. Most of these plants are fall-bearing, so the school children will be able to be a big part of the project.
